Australian primary and secondary schools can again access funding of up to $50,000 to install solar power systems on their rooftops. The Minister for Climate Change Penny Wong announced the program would reopen with $51 million in funding, starting 15 July 2010. Applications will close again on 20 August.
Since the National Solar Schools Program began in 2008 more than 6 MW of solar power has been installed, enough to power a town of 1200 households.
